Ibiza Rocks meets Club Tropicana

But tonight was the first part of the ‘Magical Mystery Tour’ that is the climax of the year of Ibiza Rocks - allegedly the finest invention since sliced bread…
It began with coaches outside their traditional home of Bar M on the beach of San Antonio and ended a couple of kilometres away at Pike’s Hotel, which,ironically, is both the first of the incredibly successful country hotels and, indisputably, the first magnet to drag in global superstars with names like Grace Jones, Freddy Mercury and Wham…
So exactly where does Pikes Hotel fit into the scheme of internationally famous venues on the European festival circuit? Well the answer tonight would appear to be ‘pretty well’. We’re on a tennis court, the stage is bigger than at Bar M so the lighting rig is more impressive and tonight’s main event, We Are Scientists, are from America and they’re brilliant.
They’re not Devo, from the early days of punk, nor the Ramones from more establishment times, but they’ve got a sense of humour and attitude that explains the name.
We cant wait to see the remake of the Club Tropicana video they filmed yesterday afternoon - complete with Tony on maracas…
There aren’t many more gigs left this summer on the Ibiza Rocks road show, but don’t miss any of them - they just get better and better…

Hey what a great night, was well impressed with the whole event over the traditional bar m. lighting rig and staging was a lot better.
Any ideas when this will be shown on Music 4 (Channel 4)

the first prog on channel 4 will be september 20th with the view - so we assume it’ll take each week as a separate programme - but they may roll one or two into one programme - we dont know…
